Dr. Ronald L. Baird
D.O.
Dr. Baird did his undergraduate training at Brigham Young University. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He then worked as a chemist for Nature’s Way testing herbal products for their potency and active ingredients. He did his medical training in Kansas City Missouri. After completing his internship and residency he became board certified in family medicine in 1998. He has practiced the full scope of family medicine for several years, including delivering babies, pediatrics and adolescent medicine.
Dr. Baird brings with him a wide variety of skills and experience to treat all of the basic medical needs of pediatric, adolescent and adult patients. Dr. Baird has great bedside manner and is well-known for his willingness to listen to his patients. He has the ability to explain complicated medical concepts clearly and guide the patient in helping them make decisions for their medical care.
Dr. Baird believes complete medical care includes physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. He believes there are definite advantages to having one medical provider know all of the medical issues affecting a family.
Heather Shelley
MSN, FNP-C, CPM, LDEM, IBCLC
Heather Shelley has always been drawn to the miracle of pregnancy and birth. As a mother of four, her personal journey deepened her passion for supporting women through the transformative experience of childbirth. From hospital births to home births, Heather discovered her calling in walking alongside women as they bring life into the world.
After the birth of her second son, Heather founded Birthing Your Way, a midwifery practice committed to compassionate, evidence-based care in a supportive, empowering environment. She became a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) through the North American Registry of Midwives in 2009 and is a Licensed Direct-Entry Midwife (LDEM) in Utah.
With a heart for lifelong learning, Heather earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Western Governors University and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner-Certified (FNP-C). This allowed her to expand her scope of practice beyond midwifery into holistic family care.
As founder of Helix Springs Family Care, Heather provides comprehensive primary care for individuals and families of all ages. Helix Springs focuses on accessible, personalized care without the limitations of insurance-based models—making wellness, preventive care, and chronic condition management approachable and affordable. Heather believes in blending natural, integrative approaches with evidence-based medicine to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Heather is also an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), having supported breastfeeding mothers for over 20 years. Whether caring for newborns, women, or entire families, Heather is known for her dedication to honoring the natural processes of the body and empowering patients to take charge of their health.

Medical Assistant
Amber has been a Medical Assistant for 8.5 years and enjoys building relationships with patients and being part of their care through different stages of life.
She is currently furthering her education in nursing school and looks forward to continuing to grow her knowledge and skills in healthcare. When she’s not working or studying, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.
Isabella
Medical Assistant
Isabella is passionate about providing high-quality patient care. She enjoys helping patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit while ensuring every detail is handled with professionalism and care.
She is fluent in both English and Spanish and is happy to assist Spanish-speaking patients so they feel comfortable, understood, and supported during their visit.
Kara
Medical Assistant, Doula
Kara Smith loves building connections with patients and helping them feel comfortable, supported, and cared for throughout their healthcare journey. In addition to her work as a Medical Assistant, she is also a Doula, which has given her a special passion for supporting women and families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. When she’s not working, Kara enjoys hiking and camping with her family or centering herself with ceramics.
Elaina
Receptionist
Elaina brings a warm, compassionate approach to serving others. She has a background in cosmetology and worked as a hairstylist before transitioning into healthcare.
Her faith in Jesus guides her commitment to treating others with kindness, care, and compassion. Outside of work, Elaina enjoys hiking, traveling, spending time outdoors, and making memories with her husband.
Amaya
Accounts Manager, Medical Assistant
Amaya serves as the Accounts Manager at the clinic, bringing a uniquely personal perspective to her role after first entering the practice as a birthing patient. Originally from New Jersey, Amaya relocated to Utah to pursue her passion for nursing and will graduate with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing this December.
Deeply dedicated to women’s health, she plans to specialize in postpartum care and takes pride in supporting families through every stage of their journey.
